Old thread I know. I like Blackguard as a separate class. I'm biased, as it is probably my favourite class after Cleric.
Personally I also like the CG/LE/CE Paladin options from 3.5. They fit things like Baneite Paladins well.

Re: [Open Discussion] Darkon as a region in the module?
I think the curse makes it unsuitable, really. I'd rather give the Fourth Sect another fortress elsewhere than to add Darkon in unless the curse was changed to something else. It's also such a big domain I think the sheer distances involved would be a bit awkward in rp too.
Only my PoV though.

Re: Open Discussion: General Conduct Rules
From the draft: "On the topics of homophobia or sexism - neither are welcome here." I'd be even more prescriptive here and list non-fantasy ableism and non-fantasy racism alongside these. It's quite difficult to describe the nuance around this of course - particularly in relation to ableis...

Re: Open Discussion: Depiction of Sensitive Subjects
I think people feeling comfortable with departing is good enough. I also think a basic tone guide is good, too. Just as you might say: "We don't abide homophobia in roleplay," you can say things like "acts of extreme violence need to be tastefully described unless someone has opted-in...

Re: Open Discussion: Dying and Penalties for Death
I think exp loss can be fine in theory, and it is certainly the biggest 'threat.' Having said that I also feel like losing a full level is far too harsh. One way to mitigate it could be some rare item that you could acquire and spend to avoid this fate? Or maybe half a level cost?
