As I work on building out character customisation stuff to include portraits, and now perhaps names, the question arises as a matter of policy: how do we want to approach character renames?
There's a few approaches:
You could let them fully rename once, without further limitations
You could let them fully rename once or more times while they're still a newbie.
You could let them rename just the last name at will.
And I'm sure we can think of others. What do you guys think?

Rename at will but a log file being made detailing them all just incase some idiot decides to abuse it seems to be the most prudent to me.

Yeah, I'm ameneable to that route as long as we have a way to flag players as no longer allowed to namechange. That way we can deal with the trolls with a boop of a DM tool or similar.
