Faction play on a persistent world is one of the attractions of these worlds. However, NWN's inbuilt faction system is full of ugliness, so I will probably write my own whole cloth.

I will have the system have a concept of rank, and also of some special titles, for example an inquisitor in the church of Ezra is somewhat removed from the actual hierachy.

I also plan to have two "kinds" of factions: origin factions (outlanders, barovians, dementlieuse, etc), and the actual factions (garda, Ezrans, etc).

I plan to implement factions for the Zeidenberg Garda, the Church of Ezra, and the Cult of the Morninglord, at the start.

Since this system is mostly being made out of whole cloth, we can do what we want with it. Is there specific things you'd like to see?

One thing I'd like to see is an check faction option where it will show you a PC/NPCs faction but then also an option for the PC to hide this as the case may be they are apart of a secretive faction (E.G Bard's Guild, RVT, Assasins, Kargat, Fraternity of Shadows) And wouldn't have any visiual notifier of this.

Yeah, I want that too. What I'm trying to determine is whether we make it a per-player thing (so you are like @faction hide @faction reveal for instance) or if it's imposed on a faction level. There's merits to both, and ideally I'd allow either or both, but dev time is not infinite, so it's probably best to choose one or the other.

I'd go with both but yeah, Initially Player choice is probably best

It's also the easiest to implement at the start, so yeah, I'll go with that.

Going to try to wrangle the UI to make some sort of rudimentary factions listing and player faction panel but thats probably going to take a little bit to sort out. At this point trying to feel out what we'd want for it first.
