Open Discussion: Combine Taunt into Intimidate
Open Discussion: Combine Taunt into Intimidate
Taunt as a skill is not in tabletop, but Intimidate is, and I would argue it would be part of the umbrella of things Intimidate would be used for in tabletop. So I would propose that we eliminate the taunt skill and place the Taunt "feat" (ability) as requiring Intimidate.

Considering it was added to NWN exclusively for some reason I've forgotten, yeah I'm all for it.
Re: Open Discussion: Combine Taunt into Intimidate
My understanding is in the original NWN to have a feat that has variable effects, it must either be hardcoded or attached to a skill of the same name. XP2 removed that requirement. As such it's been anachronistic since before even EE.
Seems an easy way to get rid of some of the homebrewy stuff to consolidate it, in my view.

+1 this change it's a holdover from when there were mechanical limitations that don't exist any more.

I think what I'll do is see if doing this causes any AI weirdness and if it doesn't then yeah, full steam ahead.
That would be the one worry, but I don't think the AI ever really uses Taunt so it might be a nonissue.
